Description
Holy Water Sprinkler for Liturgical use. The standing vessel is made of gold plated brass and it has a tapering lid with holes on its top from which the Holy Water (agiasmos) is sprinkled during the Liturgy. It can also be used to sprinkle myrrh.
This liturgical implement is also known as Aspergillum or Aspergil. It is used by several Christian denominations (Roman Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox etc) in a variety of ceremonies where sprinkling of Holy Water is appropriate.
